Hot vs Cold Lunch

When Reece started school, we told him that he would be eating "hot" lunch there.  I didn't want to pack his lunch everyday.  Well, on day 4 of school I have started packing his lunch.  We told him that I would pack it 2 or 3 times a week but he would have to eat "hot" lunch the other days.  We will see how this goes, I just want him to eat something and not be hungry.  I had to make a trip to the store today to stock up on lunch supplies.

First Day of Kindergarten!

Reece had his first day of Kindergarten yesterday.  He was excited to go and had a good day.  His favorite part of the day was recess and his least favorite part was lunch.  He had PE today, I think that we soon be his favorite part of the day!

Wedding Weekend

We spent the weekend in Des Moines celebrating Shari and Brian's wedding.  It was a busy and fun weekend.  The kids had fun swimming and Nana took them to the zoo on Saturday.

Ice Cream!

The ice cream truck came into our neighborhood the other day. The kids thought it was pretty cool, Harper picked the cotton candy ice cream bar and Reece picked the Spiderman treat!

Get Checked.

I have had an eventful couple weeks. I went into my dermatologist on July 17th for a complete mole/skin check.  I try to go at least once a year, just to make sure everything is ok.  I had one mole removed because it didn't look "right".  One July 25th, I got the call that I had melanoma...skin cancer.  I was able to get in and see a surgeon on the 27th and had surgery yesterday, August 2nd to have the spot removed.  I am lucky that this was caught very early and I should be fine.  I will have to see my dermatologist every 3 months for the next couple years.  I just hope that everyone who hears about my situation will go get checked out too.
